How far along are you? 36 weeks. On March 4th I will officially be full term which means if baby comes early, I can have it at the birthing centre as opposed to the hospital.

Weight gain: 35 pounds

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, which I am super grateful for. I want to get as much sleep as I can over the next few weeks, before the baby throws every routine out the window.

Movement: He's getting into the habit of pressing and rolling his head against my bladder, which is pretty uncomfortable, but cute at the same time. Since he's dropped it feels weirder and weirder when he hiccups. Absolutely adorable!

Favourite moments: (1) Alex and I have been spending a lot of our evenings not really doing anything, and enjoying the last few weeks we have alone together. (2) On Monday we packed our hospital bags, and today we got to tour the Birthing Centre. I still can't believe how quickly this trimester has gone by!

Weird pregnancy things: I had a very weird, realistic dream the other night that I had to be induced. During this pregnancy I have been trying to keep myself as opened minded about labour as possible. There are so many things that could happen, and I want to be mentally prepared for all of them. I hadn't really thought about induction until I had the dream. It's not ideal, of course, but I want to go into labour with as open as a mind as possible.

Happy or moody? Happy!

Looking forward to: (1) I finally get to meet my second midwife this week. I absolutely adore Wendy, and can not wait to meet Kadija. Midwifery has made me feel so empowered and confident during the course of my pregnancy. (2) This past week I told Alex that I am really looking forward to being able to wear non maternity clothes soon. I know I will probably wear my maternity bottoms for a while after he is born, but I feel like I have worn the same 3 outfits on repeat for the past few weeks.

I had a random thought a couple days ago: I'm not going to pregnant for much longer. I know it's an obvious statement, since this baby could come at any time now (!!!!!!!). As much as I can not wait to meet our son and have him here, I am really going to miss being pregnant.

I had so many assumptions about pregnancy before I was pregnant. I assumed I would gain weight everywhere, that I would be sick for 9 months straight. I assumed I would be super tired, and hibernate at home the whole duration. But to be honest, I have never been happier. Getting to know this baby and feel him grow has been such a beautiful experience for me.

The selfish part of me isn't ready to share him with the world yet. For the past 8 months I've had him all to myself, and I have loved every moment. I know he is safe where he is right now. The world can't touch him, can't hurt him. I hope that as he grows he will know how much I love him. How much I want the best for him. How hard I am trying to be the best mother for him.

With all these fears and doubts, I know that Alex and I are meant to be parents at this precise time. And if our Heavenly Father has faith in us, then I guess that will be enough to get me through.

Not long now little one. Not long at all.

How far along are you? 35 weeks. Almost a month away (if he arrives on time!)

Weight gain: 33 pounds

Sleep: It's getting a little rougher simply because it takes more and more effort for me to roll over. Every time I switch positions I have to wake up in order to move my whole body.

Movement: He stills burrows out now and again, but his movement is not as distinct as it used to be, simply because he is running of space down there!

Favourite moments: The place where we were staying for our babymoon had a huge soaker bath tub. Baby was absolutely loving being in the water. Alex and I were getting a kick out of watching his movements in my belly. Definitely going to a be a fish like his mommy and daddy.

Weird pregnancy things: I started doing squats this week (since exercise has been non existent during my pregnancy..whoops) and boy do my legs burn!!!!!! By the time I get to 30 squats, I become easily winded. Must admit I am looking forward to having my breathing back once this baby comes.

Happy or moody? Happy!

Looking forward to: This coming Monday Alex and I will be preparing our hospital bags. It's so close!!!!!!!!!!!

And I really love ice cream.
Hope you all have a beautiful day of love with the people you love.

My mother in law is so cute. For my birthday, she bought me this maternity shirt that has my blog name written on it. She said she saw it and had to buy it!

How far along are you? 34 weeks

Weight gain: 32 pounds

Sleep: Good nights and bad nights. Luckily it doesn't affect me too much though.

Movement: Although his movements aren't as pronounced or distinct, he is still fluttering and rolling around!

Favourite moments: The past week Sammy has been really cuddly with me. He is really getting offended by how big I am getting though. Apparently my round belly is quite inconvenient when it comes to kitten cuddles.

Weird pregnancy things: No matter how many times I go pee, or how many classes of water I drink, if I sit down for even 5 minutes and the get up, I have to go pee again. He loves just pressing on that bladder of mine.

Happy or moody? Always happy. I must admit that I am really going to miss being pregnant!

Looking forward to: Alex and I are going away for our babymoon this coming week and we couldn't be more excited. Our last little trip before baby comes!

+ I forgot how much I enjoy teaching the YW while using a powerpoint presentation. I guess I really am Wendell Wagner's daughter.

+ My co-workers from my past job threw me a surprise baby shower this weekend. I must admit it nice hearing the drama of work and knowing I don't have to deal with retail ever again!

+ On Monday I was able to spend time with a friend I hadn't hung out with in years! It was so great to reminisce on old times and talk about our life now.

+ I definitely slept in until 11:30 the other day. Whoops! But SO worth it!

+ I had a lovely little FaceTime date with my mother in law yesterday. Somedays you just need a little girly catch up!

+ I have become re-addicted to Shark Tank. Can't get enough!

One of the most frustrating things during my first months of pregnancy was finding a diaper bag that was both stylish and reasonably priced.
The cheap ones are usually "bleh" (or look like a diaper bag), and the cute ones are super duper expensive (sorry Fawn Designs, but there is no way I am spending over $100 on a diaper bag! Especially when it isn't even made out of leather.)
So I decided to do some searching on Etsy.

After what seemed like forever, I came across the shop Borboleta Affair.
Their bags were directly in my price range ($40-$60), and were all super duper cute!
I was a little hesitant at first to purchase something without seeing the quality in person.
But when I read through the reviews, I noticed people had nothing but great things to say about the product.

I ordered this bag and am absolutely smitten with it!
It is made with 100% cotton canvas that is water resistant which was a huge bonus for me.
There are snaps along the side, so the bag can be expanded if needed.
The inside is completely lined with sectioned pockets which will be perfect for all the random baby things I will be carrying.
And most importantly, it doesn't look like a diaper bag!

So if there are any future momma's out there looking for diaper bag, I highly recommend Borboleta Affair!

A couple days ago I came across this post, and was inspired to do the same.
Since we are expecting a baby boy, I thought I would share some pieces that have caught my eye.
Spring is my second favourite season, so I am super excited that our baby will arrive just before the spring weather does!

one // Graphic Tee

two // Bear Blanket

three // Striped Oxford

four // Trainers

five // Knit Pants

six // Herringbone Pants

seven // Baseball Cap

eight // Hooded Sweater

+ On Sunday when we changed our calendar Alex and I had a mini freak out. This quite possibly could be our last month without a child!!! AHH!

+ My maternity benefits have officially been figured out! Now all I have to do is wait. Can't believe how blessed Alex and I have been with finances!

+ Alex and I have spent quite a few nights over the past week staying up pretty late just talking away. I love this boy more and more with every passing day!

+ My goal to bake once a week is still going strong. Just pulled some oatmeal raisin cookies out of the oven. Oh the smells that remind me of childhood!

+ I am getting more and more excited for our little getaway before baby arrives. Even though we are staying at a place just outside of Ottawa, it will be nice to just get away to the country for a bit.

+ I've been able to plan and hang out with a few dear friends over the past few days. Somedays you just need to have some girl company.

+ Because of scheduling Alex and I aren't able to attend prenatal classes, but since my mom is a trained doula we've decided to take some casual "classes" from her. My mom keeps saying "Knowledge is power", and I can not wait to learn as much as I can about the birthing and labour process.

+ Also today marks 5 years of blogging for me. That's cool.

How far along are you? 33 weeks. Goodness gracious the past 2 months have just flown by!

Weight gain: 30 pounds

Sleep: Thankfully sleep has become a lot more steady recently! Not so many wake ups in the night, and I am actually able to sleep until 9:30-10 now.

Movement: Our little guy has been getting the hiccups quite a lot lately and it is so adorable!

Favourite moments: Last week at our midwife appointment, Alex and I were able to feel our baby's head. It was such a neat experience.

Weird pregnancy things: I can tell that in last 4 days he's dropped quite a bit. Whenever I get up after sitting down I feel immediate pressure on my bladder. Definitely doesn't take much for me to pee right now!

Happy or moody? :) :)

Looking forward to: This Saturday there's a little get together with my previous co-workers. I haven't seen them since December so I can not wait to see everyone again.

Yesterday I had the sweetest opportunity to look after my niece for a couple of hours.
When I asked her what she would like to do, of course her response was to watch Frozen.
When there was about 30 minutes left of the film she wandered away to the nursery.
I assumed she was going to get another stuffed animal to cuddle, but when I heard her little sweet voice talking to herself, I knew I had to investigate.
What I saw was such a sweet, tender moment.
She had surrounded herself with books in the rocking chair and was reading aloud little stories she was making up on the spot.

Oh how I love the imagination of toddlers.
